Calmed in Coffs

Although Coffs Harbour is only a small quite town and I have stayed here for two nights I can say I have rather enjoyed it.

When we arrived in Coffs it seemed that once again I had bought the English weather with me. The rain was shocking, however through all the water droplets myself and Calum were still able to find our way to the nearest pub. The night got better from there on, not only were the bar staff friendly (and outrageously beautiful) there was also a pub quiz. Of course I fancied myself as quite the intelligent young man, although I am sure I haven't even answered a question correctly on the family quiz every boxing day! Never the less I was as confident as ever so me and Calum formed an international team like none before. However in true English and Scottish fashion we failed to even get 5 right from the fist 10. The confidence was slowly declining so it was time for another beer! As it came to the end of the quiz the we found ourselves surprisingly in third place, but what wasn't so surprising is the fact that there were only two other teams. Now that we had completely failed the quiz it was time to concentrate on more important matters: Matter number one: where my next drink was coming from and matter number two: could I get the waitresses number?

Matter Number One

This was solved very swiftly as it was Calums round.

Matter Number Two

Strangely when you combined the item in matter one and the fact I have a interesting accent (on this side of the world anyway) matter two came very easily. However the fact that I now will not shut up about her to Calum is becoming rather annoying for him I'm sure. But when your drinking its easy to fall in love with your soul mate (The person supplying the drinks) hahaha in all honesty I think I was happier with the fact that she was willing to get me a job on the way back down the east coast in three months. CONTACT SAVED!

Day two in Coffs included the most exercise I think both me and Calum have undertaken since we arrived in Australia. At the hostel it was free to rent bicycles, so we took full advantage and when on a days ride around Coffs. As we were going round we made our way out on a rocky man made pier. It wasn't actually a pier but I have no other word in my head for it and it looked like one so that's the name I have given it. We stayed out on the pier for a good half hour observing a couple having a heated debate, however what I wasn't observing was the giant wave that came over the pier and soaked me! Calum found it easy enough to get out of the way without warning me though, which he found completely hilarious. The moment was made a lot better though when two minutes later we spotted a pod of dolphins playing just in front of us and then the moment was complete when a second wave soaked Calum. Karma is a bitch! The sun then began to set into the mountains so we found that it would be a good time to cycle back to the hostel both covered in water and sand. Now back and ready for a solids night sleep before the drive to Byron bay in the morning. The so called Party Town for these two campers.

Until Then....
